Sharing Supportive Solutions... Empowering Resilient Change

Inspirations...

Shara is inspired by the field of integrative and positive psychology, mindfulness and contemporary, innovative brain science that supports the neuroplasticity of the brain and our capacity to learn, develop and practice resilient habits and skills across our entire life path.  A key, consistent theme within Shara’s life, travels and work also celebrates the science backed, transformative power of both the natural world and creative art forms to promote and sustain therapeutic  change and wellbeing.

Shara seeks to empower individuals to consider creative solutions to life transitions, facilitating the of new meaning and the pathway to positive change. She is passionate about helping individuals to flourish and reach their potential, sharing simple, evidence based resources with an accessible, authentic and practical teaching style.

Shara's integrative vision of wellbeing and resilience has been influenced by her experience and education within many countries and cultures including New Zealand, Switzerland, France and the UK.  She holds a first class honours degree and Doctorate within her studies of psychology and was awarded the Social Science Faculty prize for academic excellence during her first degree. Shara was first impressioned by the therapeutic benefits of mindfulness during her doctoral studies and her subsequent ventures catalysed a book project to convey the essence of mindfulness for the younger reader (see below).

Alongside this, her most recent title in process, has been developed to share evidence based resilience and wellbeing skills with adults. Shara's books have been warmly appreciated within many diverse settings including school, community library, therapeutic and some university forums. Stand Tall Like a Mountain was selected as one of the 'stories of inspiration' within the "Christchurch Stands Tall" post-quake education pack with the 'Wild in Art's' initiative.  'Stand Tall Like a Mountain' and 'Bouncing Bouncing Back' have also been shared with hospice communities and Book Aid International, empowering access to books and learning around the globe.
